Hot Super Hot Cd Release with Grassroot Deviation

FRIDAY JULY 23
HOT SUPER HOT ( Afro-Beat/ Dance )

Music has long been a way to convey the intangible between people, a language that is shared across borders and peoples which is universal. Hot Super Hot was founded in 2008 by five musicians who wanted to fuse their love for the poly-rhythms and melodies of African music with their undeniable roots in the Alberta prairies.
Drawing inspiration from the music of Fela Kuti, Oliver Mtukudzi and Paul Simon; and from the local music scenes in Edmonton and Calgary this quintet of veterans came together to craft their own brand of music to inspire. Comparisons to groups such as Vampire Weekend and The Bedouin Soundclash encouraged the band to continue writing fun, uptempo numbers.
With the themes of celebration, goodwill and love for home cooked food through out their music, Hot Super Hot strives to remind everyone of the little truths that surround us every day. That there is happiness to be found in fellowship and in sharing time with friends and family, that music and a positive outlook can move mountains and keep the jump in your step, and that the way to someone's heart really is through their stomach!
Elephant's members have appeared in such groups as: Tanuki, The Uncas, The Grassroot Deviation, J.R. Shore, The Fabulous Bee Feeders, The Switchmen and The McGowan Family Band.
